Shades Of Sea-foam Blue

Before we arrived on the scene, this late-70s house was boring, dark, and completely outdated. The kitchen was cramped and sad, and the main floor did not flow. The clients wanted to use all the space in the home to its full potential, and have a kitchen that deserved to be called “the heart of the house”. Starting with a plan to rebuild the stairs as the intended central focal point, we opened up walls, integrated the former dining room and a portion of the livingroom into the kitchen area, and made the entire main floor sing. We took advantage of the high ceilings to create a kitchen design that maximizes the magnificent southeast view out their back windows and tall windows at the front. Inspired by ocean tones, “seafoam” became the base of this fantastic new kitchen, made extra-“extra” by an extra-long kitchen counter and high-end appliances, a deep cement undermount farmhouse sink, and eyecatching floors of solid engineered wide-plank hickory, which was selected for its grain. The family can be seemingly everywhere at once in the house now, looking out over two hardworking sinks, a Wolf gas range and banqette for 6 integrated into the island.
